New England inns salute First Responders – 9-11 free rooms

To thank first responders who put their lives on the line in their day to day jobs and to quietly pay homage to the 10th anniversary of that fateful day, several New England inns are offering free room stays on Sunday, September 11th to first responders and one family member. This offer is also extended to surviving family members of first responders who died in the line of duty.

En plein air – painters in paradise

Mystic Seaport’s Marine Gallery sponsored a plein air workshop for accomplished marine artists who have been invited to set up their easels on the grounds of the museum. This was followed by a display of the works and a gala reception for artists, members of the Museum and guests.
