In Germany, the Easter Season (following Fasching) is the second most important holiday season of the year. You’ll find decorations outside just like you do at Christmastime and the season is celebrated with just as much gusto… outdoor trees are decorated with plastic eggs and signs of spring all over.

Germany’s Carnival season – Party time

Fasching, Germany’s Carnival Season starts each year on the 11th minute of November 11th, and goes until the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday (Shroud Tuesday). It is called the “Fifth Season”, and it usually “goes out with a BANG!”

Fall is the time when Germany, from the biggest towns to the smallest villages, abounds with every kind of festival imagined. It is an ideal time to visit. There are wurst festivals, farmer’s markets, autumn markets, and, of course, the ever popular wine fests and Oktoberfests (beer gardens)!
