Experience Orion II-luxury expedition cruising at its best

Naming ceremony for Orion II

Naming ceremony for Orion II

In June, 2011 Orion Expeditions launched a second ship, Orion II, on its inaugural, 24-day cruise.  After a naming ceremony in Seattle, Washington and an overnight cruise to Vancouver, British Columbia, Orion II embarked upon the cruise fully booked with past passengers.

Orion Expeditions launched its first ship, Orion, in 2005 with an expeditionary voyage from Tahiti to Australia.  Many voyages later, adding Orion II to the company was a logical next step.  Orion II effectively doubles the company’s capacity and with that, an opportunity to introduce their guests to new and in many cases unique experiences across a variety of extraordinary destinations, extending from polar ice cap to equatorial jungle.  Both purpose-built expedition ships are designed and constructed to explore locations larger ships can only dream of.

Orion II offers accommodations for 100 guests served by a staff of 70.  The first impression is one of style, comfort and a degree of luxury unexpected on an expedition ship. Add fine dining and unobtrusive yet extraordinary level of service and spacious accommodations, you have a recipe for an experience of a lifetime.  Orion II will visit destinations most people only dream of experiencing.
