Copperleaf named to 2011 Gayot top 10 best new restaurants

Copperleaf Restaurant, located at the Cedarbrook Lodge in Seattle, has been named as best new restaurant in the US by Gayot for its farm-to-table cuisine and commitment to locally sourced ingredients.  The Copperleaf Restaurant seats only 30 people per sitting, so call for reservations in advance.  It is worth the extra effort.

When I stayed at Cedarbrook Lodge last June, just as the restaurant was opening, I had the pleasure of dining at Copperleaf Restaurant.  The service was impeccable, the ambiance both romantic  and entertaining, and the food absolutely delectable.  While not the most knowledgeable in the area of wines, I soon recognized what a difference the right wine can make with a specific food. Our server, Kendal,  did the wine pairings for us.  Not only was he knowledgeable about every wine he served, he was equally as entertaining.  Kendal and the staff at Copperleaf made a believer out of me.

1.  Dungeness Crab Bisquoe with Domaine Ste Michelle, Blanc de Blanc

2. Wild King Salmon Bacon with Pacific Rim Riesling with Chef’s Garden Spring Vegetables with McCrea’s Sirocco Blanc (Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul, Rausanne)

3.  Kodiak Island Halibut with Substance Pinot Gris

4.  Kona Coffee Pot de Creme with Oro Hazelnut wine and Vanilla Citrus Mousse with Covey Run’s Semillon Ice Wine

This was without a doubt one of the most memorable dining out experiences in Seattle.  Highly recommended, whether you are celebrating a special moment in life or looking for a memorable evening out with friends or a loved one. Definitely a “not to be missed” dining experience.
