Spring skiing in “the Bush” – Sugarbush, VT

Soon, the sap will run in the sugarbushes across Vermont. Right now, skiers are running to Sugarbush Mountain in Warren, Vermont for some of the best spring skiing anywhere. Most slopes face north so the base holds on longer. At the same time, the pubs and eateries are serving delicious food and drink on sun-soaked patios. Sugarbush has slopes for all skills, as well as apres-ski activities to please the whole family.

California Dreamin’ in Monterey, Part Two

Cannery Row, the historic waterfront district made famous by John Steinbeck, is idyllically situated on the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and is so much fun for the whole family to explore. Of course, you’ll want to spend some time at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is covered in the first article in this series, California Dreamin’ in Monterey, Part One. Walking out of the Aquarium, you’ll find yourself at the end of Cannery Row.

Florida: coast by coast V – Tarpon Springs 2

Tarpon Springs attracted settlers in the 1880s because of its mineral springs, nearness to the Gulf of Mexico, supply of lumber, orange groves and sponge beds. The immigration of Greek sponge divers gave the city its colorful, festive atmosphere that draws people here today.
