Exploring the American Northwest – Rails to Trails

We’ve discovered the Rails to Trails routes in the Pacific Northwest and have found them a great way to explore. As American residents of Germany, summertime finds us traveling throughout the United States. Our travels always involve distance walking of some sort, so we have had the opportunity to explore many of America’s Rails to Trails paths. What a great idea it was to convert unused railroad beds to useable trails. These trails are good for enjoying the outdoors and also for getting a little exercise. Most of the trails are fairly easy to traverse, being fairly flat or having slight inclines, due to previous train use.

Brides say ‘I Do’ to bridal showcase at Pan Pacific Hotel

Last week in Seattle, 175 brides said “I do” to an invitation to a bridal show case. More than 100 of those brides-to-be showed up on February 17th at the Pan Pacific Hotel to watch a mock wedding and attend a reception for the ”bride” and “groom”, along with the “parents” of the lucky couple and other “friends” and “relatives”. It was a fascinating experience that entranced many brides-to-be.

Olympic Sculpture Park offers-visitors & locals-art & exercise

Seattle’s Olympic Sculpture Park offers visitors and locals both art and exercise, no matter what the season. Pictures in this article were taken in late January at the park as multitudes of people walked the trails, admired the sculpture and watched the trains as they rolled through the park.
