New kids’ activity book with fun facts about Arizona

Thinking about a family trip to the Southwest? If you have grade-school children, hustle to your nearest book store (or the Internet) for a copy of Arizona Way Out West & Wacky. This fun-filled activity book highlights Arizona’s history with true but humorous, interesting, gross, and wacky facts about the Grand Canyon state.

More than 60 entertaining activities including word searches, crossword puzzles, coloring pages, games, recipes, and crafts fill the pages of AWOWW, making the book an ideal travel companions for kids. Parents and teachers will be amazed at how cleverly the book infuses exciting facts—educational for adults as well as youngsters.

Designated an official Arizona Centennial project (Arizona celebrates 100 years in 2012), AWOWW was written by Conrad J. Storad, who has authored more than 30 science and nature books for children and young adults, and Lynda Exley, an independent writer/editor who wants to change the mindset of people who think they don’t like history. Costumed mascot Johnny “JR” Ringo, Arizona’s official state mammal, joins the authors on school visits and presentations.
