Wine Trail B&B Water Valley Inn

This is the country home you always wanted and you’ll find it in southern Illinois.

Water Valley Inn historic home

I’ve found the perfect family vacation or reunion site. Or, if you are looking for an old-fashioned country-wedding site, Water Valley Inn B&B is the spot. This huge farmhouse is a great gathering place. Make this a homebase for your wine trail tour. Innkeeper Kim Aldridge, keeps the house seasonally decorated, beautifully landscaped and well stocked.

“We have taken great care to keep the house as original as possible,” says Kim. The Inn was built in the early 1900’s and sits atop a 100 acres of lush Illinois farmland. There is even an old safe once used when the house was a bank.

Water Valley Inn is a comfortable “home away from home.”  Guests have the big ole house to themselves, so bring the whole family, or just cozy up and keep this treasure all to yourself.

There are luxury linens on comfy beds. Bath has big fluffy towels and a selection of soaps, lotions and hair products in an easy access shower. There is great heat and air conditioning, a pleasant surprise in a big old farmhouse.

Breakfast is fun. Everything you would want for breakfast is in the fully stocked kitchen. The usual bacon eggs and toast, plus ingredients for biscuits, gravy, oatmeal, pancakes. There is coffee, tea, milk, juice, soft drinks and water. It’s nice to cook together, making your favorites for a relaxed, family breakfast.

Breakfast Caserole

If cooking is not your thing, arrange for a breakfast casserole. When you wake up, put the baking dish in the oven. Breakfast is served anytime you want because it is sitting in the fridg ready to bake. Enjoy breakfast in your pj’s and slippers just like home.

Amenities: Children possible, Crib available, down comforters, DVD, Guest refrigerator (stocked with breakfast ingredients, soft drinks and popcorn), complete kitchen facilities, box lunches and other meals with advance arrangements.

Horseshoes, patio, porch swing, picnic baskets, picnic table, gas grill, campfire ring and fire wood, private porch, horseshoes, piano, sitting room/library, VCR/TV
